Eaglewings Iron Craft to Present the 5th Annual Eaglewings Iron Craft Garden Railroad Open House on April 17-18
PHOENIX April 14, 2004 —- Eaglewings Iron Craft, a leading manufacturer and retailer of overhead train systems and portable layouts, announced today that it will be holding the fifth annual Eaglewings Iron Craft Garden Railroad Open House on April 17-18, 2004.
The event, which began as a single layout in 1999 by Eaglewings Iron Craft owner Dan Hoag, has grown this year to include 14 additional displays in locations across the Valley.
"We're excited to offer such a large collection of layouts designed by garden railroad enthusiast from around the Phoenix area," said Hoag. "This event enables railroad clubs from around the Valley to come together to promote garden railroading. Every year attendance for the open house has grown, and I expect a turnout of close to 1,000 people this year."
Hoag's garden railroad display, which features three overheard rail systems, two waterfalls and several bridges surrounded by a landscape of abundant vegetation, will be open on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Several garden railroad-related vendors will on hand with giveaways and to demonstrate products. Eaglewings Iron Craft is located at 4007 N. 22nd Ave. in Phoenix.
Open house attendees will have an opportunity to enter a raffle for a G-scale train set valued at $300. Donations will be accepted and proceeds benefit the Arizona Big Train Operators.
The open house is free, but booklets with information and maps to other Valley layouts will be available for a suggested donation of $5. Display times vary depending on the location. Information on other sites participating in the open house is also available by visiting www.eaglewingsironcraft.com/otheropenhouses.html.
